The Epic Texas Research Roadtrip Continues: Los Angeles to El Paso


A quick stop in LA and then a left turn east. Through the Arizona desert…



Then a late night border crossing into New Mexico.


And finally Texas! El Paso is at the very western tip of Texas. It represents the smaller half of a city (Juarez) that crosses the border into Mexico. I found some beautiful old neon that probably won’t make it into the book.

But something that might make it into the book are the Guinness World Record-holding largest real leather cowboy boots at Rocketbuster Boots. I can see Pete and Larry posing for a photo in front of these.
