Larry Gets Lost, Book 2 (part 3)

More roughs. Larry encounters Fisherman’s Wharf and Alcatraz.

The heart of the Fisherman’s Wharf tourist area has gravitated a little east to Pier 39, but I had to illustrate that iconic row of vintage restaurant signs on Taylor Street. I’ve been using these long horizontal CinemaScope layouts a lot recently.

The Bay Bridge and AT&T Park. The bow and arrow sculpture is for a giant, and “Giants” play at the ballpark. Get it?

The Japanese Tea Garden and De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park. The De Young has a sculpture garden with a giant safety pin.

Mission Delores and the Mission District murals.
